Engineering is the key
Our component design is based on mathematical calculations and advanced methodologies for simulations and numerical analyses that ascertain the properties of all critical parameters, such as peripheral factors, mechanics, strength, thermal expansion.
Our engineers take into account all aspects relevant to the working life and steady function of a PGM component, such as the construction of the steel frame, insulation, temperature distribution and thrust and floating bearings.
To assure a comprehensive approach to the evaluation of the overall system, we design the whole system and provide an accurate assessment of fundamental dimensions (such as diameter and length), along with a detailed PGM component illustration. Different levels of engineering are applied according to requirements.
> High: Total system approach
-
Selection, definition and calculation of PGM components
-
Selection, definition and calculation of periphery
-
Complex simulation procedures
> Medium: Definition of system and parts
-
Selection of appropriate PGM alloys
-
Calculations restricted to the PGM component only (wall thickness, head loss, gob weight, mechanical tension, etc.)
> Basic: Adaptation of design
-
Adaptation of PGM component design to our manufacturing capabilities
