Platinit® & Multinit® Catalyst Gauzes
The heart of any ammonia oxidation process will always be the catalyst gauzes based on PtRh alloys. By applying the flat-bed knitting technology umicore has developed a smart portfolio of single-layer and multi-layer catalyst gauzes, today very well known under their brand names Platinit® and Multinit®.
Although nowadays knitted gauzes are the predominant type in the industry, umicore is the only player in the market with a number of sophisticated structures that do substantially differ from standard gauze types. To perfectly finetune the activity of the catalyst in the various layers of a gauze pack it is evident that applying a standard product type only will never be sufficient.
