Specialty Products for various high-temperature applications
Next to our strong portfolio for our main target industries we also manufacture a wide range of specialties for applications where aggressive media and high temperatures demand for highly inert and resistant PGM compounds.
Tubes
Umicore offers both, tubes and protecting tubes in either cast or FKS PGM alloys as seamless or welded component. These can be used as pre-material in glass industry applications, for temperature measurement, or as capillary tubes.
Wires
Also wires are manufactured based on both, cast and FKS PGM alloys. Wire thickness can range from 0,015 - 5 mm, otherwise we do also offer rolling profiles. Wires are, amongst other applications, mainly used for the manufacturing of catalyst gauzes, thermo wires, and electrodes for spark plugs.
